Overview
Baylor College of Medicine recognized the need to modernize its data architecture and reporting processes to support evolving business needs, greater agility, and informed decision-making.
MenasaBD secured the opportunity through its North American network, supported the engagement through the sales cycle, and remained involved with both sides through delivery.
The Challenge
Baylor's data infrastructure relied on SQL Server, with Power BI reports generated directly from the database. While functional, this traditional setup required manual interventions that created bottlenecks and delays in reporting.
As data volumes grew and requirements changed, the organization needed a more scalable and adaptable data architecture.
The Solution
MenasaBD led the commercial introduction and stayed close to the engagement through delivery, ensuring continuity between the client's expectations and the partner's execution.
Our partner Ascend Analytics developed a tailored data architecture for Baylor. A Python ETL pipeline extracts, transforms, and loads data from the client's S4 Hana database on a scheduled daily basis, with automated triggers, detailed logging, and automated Power BI refreshes that eliminate manual intervention.
The Impact
The engagement produced measurable results:
- $50,000 in annual labor cost savings from automation
- 30% decrease in error rate across data management processes
- 20% reduction in time spent on manual data processing
- 10% revenue increase attributed to faster decision-making and improved insights
- End-to-end automation of reporting with zero manual refreshes
Baylor now operates real-time financial reporting with data that remains consistently up to date without human oversight.
